5mm Liquid Light Guide Specs

Product Description

The OneLight™ Liquid Light Guide is a critical component of the optical train of the OneLight Spectra. A liquid light guide is a single core optical transmitter for high intensity light. Liquid light guides have been selected over glass fibre optic light guides due to their greater throughput at high light intensities and for their robustness, even after prolonged rigorous use. Liquid light guides use quartz windows to seal in the non-toxic transmissive liquid. They have a flexible outer sheath to increase the light guides’ mobility, and have little luminous loss over light guides of greater lengths. The 5mm core light guides plug into the output port of the Spectra, transmitting the light produced by the unit to the point of use.

OneLight has screened a large number of manufacturers of liquid light guides, and the various different types of light guides offered by them in order to determine which provides the highest levels of output from the OneLight Spectra units. Our liquid light guides offer optimal wavelength transmission and throughput for the wavelength range of the Spectra, and their performance is unrivalled by any other light guide on the market. Of course, it is perfectly acceptable for customers to choose to use a different brand of light guide; however, OneLight cannot guarantee the power output or wavelength transmission through these components. If customers wish to use another manufacturer’s light guide, OneLight recommends that they be sure to test their performance prior to purchasing.
